Pat Kelly has been named Keyboard Specialist

Keyboardist Pat Kelly has been named Keyboard Specialist and Special Projects Producer of DHR Music, a premier dealer for Benedetto, Breedlove and Hamer Guitars and Henriksen JazzAmps. "Pat is a dynamic composer and producer whom I've known and respected for years as a musician and as a producer of some of J Curve Records' finest releases, " said Dale Rabiner, DHR's President. Pat Kelly has had an active career as a keyboardist, composer and producer over the past 40 years. Beginning as a lighting designer for a rock band at age 15, he moved to the keyboard chair and began writing music for the band. Moving toward jazz, he later played with legendary Cincinnati tenor saxophonist Jimmy McGary. He learned the intricacies of piano restoration and tuning at The Player Piano Shop, before going on to earn a degree in musical composition at the University of Cincinnati.

After returning from a four-year stay in Pensacola, FL, Kelly formed his 13-piece PsychoAcoustic Orchestra, an eclectic big band that released two CDs of original music in the mid-90s and is working on a new CD. He served as in-house producer for J Curve Records in the late-90s/early2000's, producing highly acclaimed recordings by guitarist Scotty Anderson, R&B vocalist P. Ann Everson-Price, Latin X-posure and three volumes of the J Curve Cincinnati Jazz Collection, among others. Over the years, he has performed with Cal Collins, Kenny Poole, Chuck Wayne, Barney Kessel, Buddy DeFranco, Ira Sullivan, Teri Thornton, Louis Hayes, Howard Johnson and Red Rodney.
