Bourbon Road to perform at Taste of Texas

Southland blues band Bourbon Road will perform live at Nick's Taste of Texas in Covina, California on Saturday, May 23rd, 2009. Also scheduled to perform that evening are Johnny Mastro and Mama's Boys. "We're excited to play this show" says Bourbon Road bass player Scott "Lucky" Hudson, "so many blues venues in Southern California are shutting their doors in this economy. We're glad to have folks like Robert James working hard to keep the blues scene alive."

About Bourbon Road
Formed in 1997 in Yorba Linda, California under the original name The Barnburners Blues Band, Bourbon Road has performed in major venues across Southern California including The Coach House (San Juan Capistrano), The Galaxy Theater (Costa Mesa), B.B.
King's (Universal City), and many more. Known for their high-energy performances, the band has performed on the same bill with many Blues artists including Greg Serrato, Finis Tasby, Robben Ford, Teresa Russell & Cocobilli, BB Chung King & The Buddha Heads, etc.
The band has performed in music festivals throughout Southern California, everywhere from Solvang to San Diego. You can find Bourbon Road recordings on radio stations throughout the United States, as well as in Europe and Latin America. In 2007, the band finalized a c.d. of original music entitled "My Lonely Heart". On New Year's Eve 2006, Bourbon Road (under the name The Barnburners) performed at the first annual OC New Year's Eve Celebration, sharing the stage with artists Sugar Ray, Lit, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, and the Psychedelic Furs, among many others.

About Johnny Mastro & Mama's Boys
If you have enough guts and vision, you can draw a line in the sand and declare your path. Mama's Boys is Johnny Mastro's vision of how blues should be played. Honest, original, raw, get-down music void of today's common cliche's and posing. Johnny says "This is not the lazy respectful whitebread blues!". Think Hound Dog Taylor crossed with Butterfield Blues Band. Hard blues you can only get with keeping one foot firmly planted in the past while moving into the future. Coming out of Los Angeles oldest Blues Club Babe'e & Ricky's Inn since 1993, the band tours internationally and signed to Nugene Records.
