Joe Maganarelli and Hank Brown Join Jazz at the Mansion

International jazz trumpet recording star and performing legend Joe Magnarelli will be returning home to his roots in Central New York, performing at Chateau Safflyn at Gelston Castle Estate on Saturday, June 28th 2008.

Performing with the John Piazza, Jr. Quartet, Mr. Magnarelli, from Syracuse NY, who has performed with jazz giants Lionel Hampton, Miles Davis and most recently with the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will be leading of a summer of music and cultural events at the Historic Estate.

Set atop the the Mohawk Valley with a magnificent view of the Adirondack Mountains, the historic property was formerly the private retreat of World Renown Cellist and Conductor Mstislav "Maestro" Rostropovich. Heralded by the New York Times as "the 20th Century's greatest Cellist" Rostropovich built the Mansion, now known as Chateau Safflyn, for his wife, Galina Vishneskaya, also an internationally recognized soprano vocalist.

Designed for great performance in the most romantic setting of Gelston Castle Estate - Nature's Palace, Chateau Safflyn presents Jazz at the Mansion the last Saturday of every month where all the greats come to play under the stars.

Also debuting this month as the MC of Jazz at the Mansion will be Hank Brown, legendary voice of boxing for ABC sports and the host of the Hank Brown show on Beautiful Music 1480 AM.
