NYC Guitarist & Dancer Bring Unique Show to RI

New York dancer /choreographer Stephanie Harris will join veteran guitarist and singer/songwriter Paul Zunno in bringing their concert blending music and dance to Perishable Theater in Providence for a limited engagement from May 29th to 31st. Harris, best known for her powerful yet graceful choreography will dance to Zunno's blues, rock and roots music. Their show offers a twist on the traditional solo acoustic concert by incorporating professional dance which is gaining interest throughout the United States and Canada.

In a recent interview, Zunno declared, "Dancing brought something wonderful to my songs . . . and I've had guys you'd never expect tell me how much they loved it."

Zunno, former lead guitarist for legendary soul singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wilson Pickett is a highly accomplished guitarist who has performed throughout Europe, The United States and Australia. Zunno's music can be heard on MTV's "The Real World" and in a number of independent films. He has appeared on "David Letterman" in support of Pickett's last album and can be seen in the Miramax film, "Only The Strong Survive" backing up Pickett in a live performance. Zunno has also written and recorded songs for Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Gary U.S. Bonds.

Harris and Zunno, always willing to teach and share the limelight, arrive days in advance of their concert. Harris recruits dancers from local schools for a two day master class and choreographs the students into the show. This creates a unique performance in each locale with a distinctly warm, local feeling for audiences. Meanwhile Zunno will give live workshops to share his technique and experience.

Maria Benson's Centre for Dance in Cranston, RI has been selected to join this performance and Zunno has scheduled a workshop at Guitar Center in Warwick on May 28th from 5pm-6pm.

Opening the show will be Garry Foisy, a singer/songwriter from Pawtucket and member of the Rhode Island Songwriters Association (RISA).

Onesock Productions is presenting the show which starts at 8pm from Thursday May 29th to Saturday May 31st at Perishable Theatre, 95 Empire Street, Providence. Tickets are $20 or $15 for students/seniors and are available online at www.theatermania.com or by phone at 866-811-4111.
