EMI Music signs S-Curve Records

EMI Music has signed a US distribution agreement and worldwide license deal with record label S-Curve, marking a return to EMI for Steve Greenberg, the proven hit-maker credited with discovering and breaking artists such as Joss Stone and Fountains of Wayne. EMI will distribute S-Curve releases in the US for both physical and digital releases and mobile products and will have the exclusive global license for S-Curve artists outside of America.

The first artists signed in this multi-year, multi-album deal are Sir Tom Jones and rock band We The Kings.

Jones is the unstoppable, Grammy Award-winning Welshman who has sold 75 million units worldwide. Jones was among the performers at the highly-anticipated Concert For Diana on July 1 at London's Wembley Stadium before an estimated global TV audience of 500 million viewers in 145 countries, along with artists such as Joss Stone (with whom he performed a duet), Elton John, Lily Allen, Brian Ferry, Duran Duran, Fergie, The Feeling and more. Jones is in the studio working on a new album which is being produced in part by Greenberg, Mike Magini and Betty Wright, the same team who produced Joss Stone's first two releases.

We The Kings are a Bradenton, Florida based alternative pop/rock band whose upcoming record is being produced by Sam Hollander, best known for producing Gym Class Heroes' Cupid's Chokehold.

"Steve has a great ear for hits, and we're pleased to be back in business with him, " said Ronn Werre, President of EMI Music Marketing.

"We worked closely with Steve on breaking Joss Stone in the uk and look forward to future successes with his new venture, " said Tony Wadsworth, Chairman and CEO, EMI Music UK & Ireland.

"I'm really excited to be back working with EMI and bringing S-Curve artists to a global audience, " said Greenberg. "EMI has a strong global footprint, a great digital team and real commitment that will serve our artists well."
