| 8th Annual Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival From Friday July 6 through Sunday 8, 2007 the Bay Area Blues Society's 8th year of the Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival will feature the greatest stars of Chicago Blues ever in California at one time. The theme this year is "From Chicago to Russell City" and will feature the world's oldest blues piano player, Mr. Pinetop Perkins, widely recognized as the world's best Blues piano player. We will celebrate his 94th Birthday on July 7th at the Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival. Other special features for this From Chicago to Russell City performance include the Reunion of the "Sons of the Blues" which include Billy Branch, Lurrie Bell and Carl Weathersby. This show will have the legendary Eddie Shaw and Mr. Chicago, Taildragger. Other great top blues artists from the Windy City include Willie Big Eye Smith, Big Time Sarah, Nellie Tiger Travis, Vance Shaw, and on his first visit to the San Francisco Bay area, Doug McDonald.
