Jim Brickman's 'Escape' : #1 on Billboard's New Age Chart

The Savoy Label Group announced the success of platinum artist Jim Brickman on his SLG Records debut, Escape which has topped the Billboard New Age chart at # 1 again this week having debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Pop Chart in its first week. Escape features a stellar showcase of collaborators including the late Gerald Levert in his last recording "My Angel."

We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our friend Gerald Levert. Gerald's voice brought joy to those who heard him sing and his presence radiated warmth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Levert family at this time. We hope that Gerald's memory will always bring comfort and happiness to those whose lives he touched. Jim posted this note regarding his friend: "We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our friend Gerald Levert. Gerald's voice brought joy to those who heard him sing and his presence radiated warmth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Levert family at this time. We hope that Gerald's memory will always bring comfort and happiness to those whose lives he touched."

Levert's rendition of "My Angel" captured the hearts of Jim Brickman fans when Jim introduced his R&B sound to his audience. Gerald and Jim were lucky enough to have performed the song live at the ESCAPE release party at the House of Blues in October to wild audience approval. Jim truly enjoyed working with Gerald and the two unlikely collaborators had looked forward to performing in concert again later this fall.
