Bluegrass Museum Names Gray To New Position

by IBMM

The International Bluegrass Music Museum has named its Executive Director, Gabrielle Gray, to a newly created position of Director of Development. The decision was made during the Board meeting and Strategic Planning session that took place November 4th and 5th, 2006 at the museum in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Fletcher Bright, Chairman of the Museum's Board of Trustees said, "We are excited about Gabrielle's potential to take the bluegrass museum to the millions of bluegrass fans who live in 75 nations around the world. We have confidence in her ability to serve as our international ambassador, fundraiser, and artifact solicitor. Under her leadership, the museum's budget has increased ten-fold since 2002, and we are anticipating our first balanced budget since the museum opened."

"I am pleased the museum's trustees have the vision and foresight to provide in this manner for the preservation of the history, artifacts, and collections of bluegrass music, " said Gray. "When a new executive director is found to manage the day-to-day running of the museum, I will be able to concentrate on raising the funds necessary to ensure its longevity. We owe it to the fast-growing global base of bluegrass musicians, fans, and industry personnel to balance our books, to become accredited, and to establish and grow an endowment. With qualified assistance and adequate funding, there is no limit to what we can accomplish."

Ms. Gray will continue to serve as Executive Director while the Board of Trustees conducts a national search for an Executive Director.
