Tower Records And Music Festivals

Tower Records announced its proud sponsorship of some of the nation's best music festivals taking place across the nation this season ... from New York to Seattle, Los Angeles to Nashville, and Chicago to Monterey.

"Since 1960, Tower Records has done much more than open the doors andturn on the registers, " said Russ Eisenman, Senior Marketing Officer of Tower Records. "Event sponsorship is the outreach extension of the thousands of events that occur every year in Tower Records stores around the country and across the world. Tower Records will always be where the music is."

At the following festivals, Tower will have onsite booths that willhost artist signings, feature live podcast broadcasts, sell music, and give away music, t-shirts and other goodies: Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival - Manchester (Nashville), TN, June 16-19, 2006. 80, 000 people are expected to turn out to see Radiohead, Phil Lesh, Elvis Costello, Beck, and many more at the sold out Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival where Tower Records is the exclusive record retail sponsor.

Playboy Jazz Festival at The Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA, June
17-18, 2006. As the exclusive record retail sponsor, Tower Records joins Heff and his Bunnies to celebrate at The Hollywood Bowl for the Playboy Jazz Festival in its 28th year.

Intonation Music Festival - Chicago, IL, June 24-25, In its second year, with more than 40, 000 expected attendees who will come to listen to The Streets, The Stills, Bloc Party and more, Tower Records is proud to sponsor Chicago's Intonation Music Festival.

Village Voice Siren Music Festival - Coney Island, NY, July 16, 2006. As exclusive music retailer again this year, Tower Records is proud to sponsor the Village Voice Siren Music Festival which encourages 180, 000 people to venture to Coney Island for a free day of spectacular music in the sun on the beach.

Bumbershoot - Seattle, WA, September 2-4, 2006. In the first year of a three year sponsorship, Tower Records is psyched to support the Northwest's biggest music festival as the main-stage presenting sponsor and exclusive CD music retailer of Bumbershoot. Now in its 36th year, 160, 000 music lovers are expected to turn out to enjoy this year's headliners: Kanye West, Tribe Called Quest, AFI, and Hawthorne Heights.

Monterey Jazz Fest - Monterey, CA, September 15-17, 2006. An institution in its 49th year, The Monterey Jazz Fest expects to host 50, 000 fans who will come to hear: Kurt Elling, Bonnie Raitt, Keb' Mo', Chris Botti, and Dave Brubeck. Tower has been a proud sponsor for many years. The Tower Records booth will host numerous artist signings and there will be two music stores onsite. In conjunction with Jazz Fest, Tower was also the proud sponsor of the NeXt Generation Festival, celebrating youth jazz performers, which took place in April.

Earlier this season, Tower was the proud sponsor of: Sacramento Jazz Jubilee - Sacramento, CA, May 26-29, 2006. Tower Records has been a sponsor for more than half of The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee's 30 years of existence. Once again, Tower was the Exclusive Record Retail Sponsor, and hosted a Jazz Super Store on site, in addition to a Tower Records Satellite location in Old Sacramento.

CMA Music Festival 2006 - Nashville, TN, June 8-11, 2006. Tower Records was the exclusive music retail sponsor for the CMA Music Festival, which celebrated its 35th year with nearly 150, 000 attendees to enjoying Hank Williams, Jr., Brooks & Dunn, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.
