Saco Yasuma & Yo'in at 419 Sounds

Famous avant-jazz musician Saco Yasuma and her ensemble Yo'in (Saco Yasuma, Alto Sax; David Phelps, Guitar; Lee Marvin, Bass; Rob Blumenthal, Drums/Percussions) will play at the newest jazz space in Brooklyn, 419 Sounds, on Thursday, June 15th. Saco's music is noted for its lingering melodies loaded with grooving rhythmic patterns. The group features the tight rhythm section and this time Saco has invited the versatile guitarist David Phelps to add elusive lines and atmospheric shapes to her ensemble.

419 Sounds is the performance space that Karen and Lee Marvin have created in their home for musicians to perform original and improvised music. The intimate space seats about 30 people and is well suited for a dialogue between the performers and the audience.
