Stacey Kent to perform at the Broxbourne Civic Hall

Jazz singer Stacey Kent will be performing at the Broxbourne Civic Hall, UK on Sunday 23 July. Along with her accompanying band, including a local pianist from Hoddesdon, Stacey has released six albums and has received a number of awards including the 2001 British Jazz Award and the 2002 BBC Jazz Award for Best Vocalist. She has recently been nominated for BBC Jazz Album of the Year which will be judged in July.

Stacey was originally a language student before studying at the Guildhall School of Music. Her initial demo tape secured her a role in Richard III, a recording contract and national airplay and her music has been influenced by 'Cole Porter' and 'Duke Ellington'. Her latest album, 'The Boy Next Door' includes renditions of songs by artists such as 'James Taylor', 'Paul Simon' and 'Burt Bacharach'.
