Sanofi-Aventis JazzFest 2006

New Jersey's oldest jazz festival, the Sanofi-Aventis JazzFest 2006, will be held on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11. A portion of the profits have been earmarked to help jazz musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina.

On Saturday, the featured artists will include singer Jackie Cain, the Bill Charlap Trio, the Kit McClure Big Band, the Ed Polcer Sextet with Kenny Davern, Tom Artin, Johnny Varro, Frank Tate, Joe Ascione and special guest, 10-year-old violin sensation Jonathan Russell. Also appearing will be the Barry Harris/Earl May Duo and the Howard Alden/Gene Bertoncini Duo.

On Sunday, the featured artists will be the Kenny Davern-Bucky Pizzarelli Quartet, Roberta Gambarini, the Harry Allen Quartet, Warren Vache, Stephane Wrembel and the Hot Club of New York, Ben Riley's Monk Legacy Band and the Johnny Varro/Frank Tate Duo.

On Friday, June 2 JazzFest begins with a free outdoor concert by the world-famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band on Carriage House Field at the Madison, New Jersey campus of Drew University.
