Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be a guest of YearOne

Guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be joining the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour starting on June 3, 2006, as a guest of YearOne. Shepherd will be driving his Xtreme Lee, a 1969 Dodge Charger, which was featured on an episode titled "General Blues" on TLC's "Rides" last year.

This year, the Power Tour starts in Orlando, Florida, and will traverse the eastern seaboard with stops in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania before stopping for the finale at the legendary Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Hot Rod TV will be joining Kenny for some of the ride to capture Kenny's journey.

Kenny will be signing autographs at each stop throughout the tour at the YearOne show display. Each day, 50 CD samplers will be given away. The CD sampler will contain songs from each of Shepherd's four albums plus an exclusive track that has not yet been released from his upcoming documentary titled "Ten Days Out: Blues From The Backroads."

The documentary is a personal project for Shepherd. He spent ten days traveling the country with a film crew, the esteemed Double Trouble, a portable recording studio and producer (as well as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee) Jerry Harrison visiting blues veterans in their homes, backyards and local clubs, capturing the stories and music of some of America's greatest blues musicians. A portion of the proceeds from this DVD/CD will be donated to the Music Maker Relief Foundation (www.musicmaker.org). Music Maker Relief Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the true pioneers and forgotten heroes of Southern musical traditions gain recognition and meet their day-to-day needs. "I really feel it is as much a tribute to the masters of the blues as a way to raise money for a foundation, which supports working musicians who deserve more recognition."

Shepherd's relationship with YearOne started with the building of his Xtreme Lee and since then, he has worked closely with them bringing his Xtreme Lee to The YearOne Experience in Atlanta, Mopars at the Strip in Las Vegas and now the Hot Rod Power Tour. "Kenny Wayne Shepherd's passion for cars is as strong as his passion for music, " said Kevin King, President of YearOne. "His Xtreme Lee is a great example of blending the tradition of the original General Lee with the latest new car technologies. The Hot Rod Power Tour is the perfect place for his fans to see this beautiful car."

Kenny Wayne Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide, with three straight No. 1 blues albums, a string of No. 1 mainstream rock singles, two 1998 Billboard Music Awards for Rock Track of the Year ("Blue On Black") and Blues Album of the Year ("Trouble Is..."), two Grammy nominations, one in 1998 for "Trouble Is..." and the other in 2000 for "Electric Lullaby." Kenny also was awarded the 1998 and 2001 Orville H. Gibson Awards for Best Blues Guitarist.
