Sonya Kitchell to Perform on QVC

Seventeen-year-old Sonya Kitchell is scheduled to make her QVC debut on Monday, June 5, 2006. Kitchell is slated to perform during "The QVC Morning Show" broadcast and offer her debut album "Words Came Back To Me".

In addition to her scheduled live performance, Kitchell's music will be prominently featured during "The QVC Morning Show" on June 5 - replacing the usual morning show theme song - and then will be showcased throughout the remainder of the week at different times during the morning show programming.

Born and raised in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Kitchell grew up in a home filled with music and art. Her father is a top-selling poster artist with a passion for world music, and her mother is a graphic designer.

Kitchell's debut album, "Words Came Back To Me, " was co-released by Velour Music Group and Starbucks Hear Music. A collection of 12 original songs - all penned by Kitchell - represents a stunning debut by this remarkable young artist, blending pop, jazz, folk and blues into a melange of soulful beauty. Recorded in Vermont, New York City and at home in the Berkshires, Words Came Back To Me features Kitchell on acoustic guitar and vocals, backed by musicians from her regular band of roots/jazz aces, all under the age of 30.

Kitchell is only the second artist to be selected for the Starbucks Hear Music Debut CD series, which was created to introduce emerging artists with great talent and long-term career potential.

"We are thrilled to feature such a talented, up-and-coming artist like Sonya Kitchell, " said Rich Yoegel, director of merchandising for QVC. "Sonya's QVC appearance will help her connect with a large audience and create a great entertainment buzz with the viewer."
