Chocolate Genius Inc Touring iwith Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen has invited Chocolate Genius Inc (Marc Anthony Thompson) to tour in his Seeger Sessions Band, kicking off in Europe this May and rolling on through U.S. until June. Supporting Springsteen's latest album "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, " the show promises to showcase memorable evenings of gospel, folk, and blues.

Consummate performer Chocolate Genius Inc's most recent album "Black Yankee Rock" has been hailed by critics as a masterpiece of blended genres and insight, and placed on a number of best 2005 album of the year lists. From the infectious opener "The Beginning of Always" to the lovely and lyrical "Chasing Strange" to the poignant pop anthem "Forever Everyone, " the eleven eclectic tracks further cement Thompson's reputation as one of the most accomplished and original artists around.

Chocolate Genius Inc's genre-bending songwriting talents have been finely honed on "Black Yankee Rock" by brilliant producer Craig Street (Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson, k.d. lang). And in addition to Thompson's own musings, his amazing all-star line-up of Van Dyke Parks, Marc Ribot, Roy Nathanson, and Me'Shell NdegéOcello helps to capture the mood.

Previous releases from Thompson include two acclaimed albums ("Black Music" and "Godmusic"); scores and original songs for a number of notable films; as well as standout covers for Oscar nominated "American Splendor" and "I Am Sam." He was awarded with an Obie for sound design for "A Huey P Newton Story, " and during his career has collaborated with such diverse artists as Cibo Matto, The Roots, Medeski Martin & Wood, Branford Marsalis, Philip Glass and Spike Lee.
