'Here Rests In Honored Glory'

The Donald and Mary Miller Foundation announced the release of its musical CD "Here Rests in Honored Glory." Intended as a tribute for those who have lost their life while serving in the Armed Forces, the music has received nomination nods from New York State as the official hymn of mourning and has been adopted as the official hymn of mourning by the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Veterans of the Vietnam War Inc.

"I wanted to honor our lost soldiers, " said Donald Miller, composer and Trustee of the Foundation. "Its noteworthy trait - from somber minor to a major key - allows the music to descend depicting the death of a soldier, with modulations to signify the life after ours on Earth." "Here Rests in Honored Glory" is based on the inscription of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and is the first musical setting for the text. The original music was written by Miller in 1986. It was performed and recorded by the North Carolina Master Chorale and instrumentalists under the direction of Dr. Alfred Sturgis in October 2005.

Donald Miller is an award-winning jazz guitarist with a Doctorate of Music from the University of Southern California. His VHS, the "Finger Lakes Suite, " was released in 1991 and he has since completed a series of six books for Mel Bay Publications Inc. under the title "Donald Miller Guitar Ensemble Series." He is currently at work on a new project for Mel Bay titled "Donald Miller String Ensemble Series" to be released in 2007.
