Jazz Experiment in the New York University

Pushing the boundaries of jazz education, Kenny Werner, New York University's world-renowned jazz pianist and faculty member in Jazz Studies within the Steinhardt School's Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, is donating his free time to find performance opportunities for his jazz studies students around New York City. Werner believes that in order to take student performers to the highest level of artistry they must work out their skills on the bandstand along with highly skilled professional musicians.

The first NYU Experiment will take place on Tuesday, February 21 featuring Werner on piano with undergraduate student Josh Myers, bass, and graduate students: John Beaty, saxophone, Joe Beaty, trombone; Scott Kacenga, guitar; and Jordan Perlson, drums.
