Bullet For My Valentine: Second U.S. tour

The hype-generating, ready-to-explode, near-combustible Bullet for My Valentine have announced their second U.S. tour ever with Rob Zombie and Lacuna Coil, from March 18 to May 4th, an interesting combination that will pair the theatrical, raucous hard rock of Zombie with the energetic speed of Bullet. This tour will be in support of their first U.S. released full length, The Poison, on Trustkill records, on the aptly picked February 14th, Valentine's Day.

Bullet for My Valentine plays a brand of dark, melodic rock, with twin guitar fury and high speed metal chops. Their unique style was crafted on their home shores of Wales, with influences like Metallica, and Iron Maiden in the mix. They have become a worldwide phenomenon everywhere else, with our shores quickly catching up. In Europe, Hawthorne Heights is opening up for them on the recent sold out Kerrang tour. Bullet has scored multiple covers of Metal Hammer and Kerrang magazine in the past year, being named Album of the year 2005 by Kerrang as well. The record also is riding high on the airwaves in the UK where it debuted at Number One at rock radio there. Over here, the Hand of Blood EP has scanned over 25, 000 copies since its release last fall, and has been selling more than 2, 000 copies a week. They will be featured in Revolver as an Artist to Watch in 2006, and will be featured in the Bands You Need to Know in 2006 issue of Alternative Press. They were recently featured in an episode of Music Choice, and will have a story on MTV.com in the near future. They will also have an Under the Radar profile in the March issue of Penthouse.

Through all of this, the band has managed to maintain their sense of direction, and stay level-headed. They tour relentlessly, most recently in Europe, Australia, and Japan. They tend to work so hard that it almost makes them sick: in Japan, drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas came down with a rare strain of the flu, and had to be hospitalized. Matt Tuck, guitarist and lead singer, collapsed and was admitted to a hospital for exhaustion right before their appearance on the Metal Hammer Golden Gods. They survived an earthquake while they were in Japan; they were at the top floor of a hotel when it happened, and they didn't even have time to run downstairs! The products of these are worth it, for them and for us. They have been churning out the music videos, and on their recent travels they stopped in the Postjona caves in Slovenia to make a video for their top 40 single "Suffocating Under the Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do)." The video for the song "Hand of Blood" off the EP, which features concert-goers drenched in blood, a la Blade, was just added to rotation on MTV2.

The black-clad quartet of BFMV includes Matthew Tuck, Michael "Moose" Thomas (drums), Jason James (bass) and Michael Padget (guitar) formed from the ashes of "Jeff Killed John" a rising act who had endured many struggles for more than five years together. While preparing to go into the studio their bassist quit two days before recording began. The incident forced the group to take a long hard look at their band and re-focus their energy and direction. After adopting a new bass player, name and approach, the band immediately knew they were on the right path. This path has paid off for them, and judging by their rigorous tour schedule, they are not planning to give up any time soon.
