The Ditty Bops And Musical Carnival

Los Angeles-based duo The Ditty Bops return to their roots with a one-night only cabaret style performance scheduled for Thursday, December 8th at the Silent Movie Theater in Hollywood, CA. Fresh off a successful tour through the Midwest with bluegrass sensation Nickel Creek, The Ditty Bops charmed audiences with their retro-swing and gypsy-jazz harmonies as much as with their carnival-like stage show. Described as "wondrously quirky" by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and "a live action cartoon" by the Lexington Herald Leader, their vaudeville-style antics included jugglers, unicyclists, pumpkin carving, stilts, Charleston demonstrations, sword fights, and pirate songs -- just an average night on stage for Amanda Barrett and Abby DeWald.

The Ditty Bops are now ready to exhibit their finely tuned bag of stage show tricks to their hometown fans. And at what better venue for these artists of yesteryear to pull out the props, costumes, and puppets than the same vintage Silent Movie Theater that's been screening Charlie Chaplin movies for 50 years? Not to be outdone by the visual masterpiece, the upcoming performance will include music from The Ditty Bops' self-titled debut album released last year on Warner Bros. Records as well as select songs from their upcoming highly anticipated second album slated for release in spring 2005. They're in the studio now again with producer Mitchell Froom.
