Smooth Jazz - Smooth Cooking

Some of today's top contemporary jazz performers show off their culinary chops and "smooth sounds" in Smooth Cooking, one of eight new CD/recipe card sets from publisher Sharon O'Connor's popular new Music Cooks Series.

Smooth Cooking, the brainchild of KMGQ/Santa Barbara Program Director Mark De Anda, features an array of delicious dishes culled from recipes compiled from top contemporary jazz performers along with an 11-track smooth jazz CD sampler. Just weeks after its initial release, Smooth Cooking, and O'Connor's entire Music Cooks Series, have become best sellers.

Smooth Cooking includes recipes from Dave Koz (I Cugini/Beverly Hills), Tom Scott, The Manhattan Transfer, Bob James, Chris Botti, Russ Freeman of the Rippingtons and many others. Laminated recipe cards include a full color photo of the finished dish, shopping and pantry lists, and easy-to-follow instructions designed for the home chef. Also included with the sixteen recipe cards are a trio of celebrity-selected cocktail recipes and an eleven-song CD with selections designed to enhance the cooking experience. The compact disc features classic smooth jazz tunes from George Benson, Tom Scott, Grover Washington Jr., and contemporary favorites from Dave Koz, Rick Braun and others.

Other best-selling volumes in the Music Cooks Series include Christmas Cookies with festive holiday cookie recipes and the music of the Nutcracker-Suite; The Cocktail Hour features mouthwatering appetizers, innovative cocktail recipes and jazz from the George Cables Trio; Home With Baby delivers tasty, healthy meals for young families and acoustic guitar lullaby music; Pizza Party showcases authentic Italian pizza recipes along with traditional Neapolitan music; Coffee Treats provides O'Connor's favorite scone, cake, muffin and bread recipes. The accompanying CD features Bach's Brandenburg Concertos performed by Boston Baroque. Wine Tasting includes acoustic music from the Tim Ware Band and favorite recipes for wine tastings and casual dinners. Cooking With the Blues is comprised of favorite casual American dishes and a CD of soulful blues by the Danny Caron band with blues legend Charles Brown.
