Dru Hill: "Hits" + "Hits -- The Videos "

Dru Hill was one of the most significant crossover phenomena in hip-hop history. Not only one of the era's most popular vocal groups, Dru Hill was one of the very few that successfully mixed the silky smooth with the street smart. Now fans can return to back in the day with the group's first "best of" collection and first homevideo, "Hits" and the DVD "Hits -- The Videos, " each released by Island Def Jam/UMe on October 11, 2005.

Hits brings together 12 Dru Hill classics culled from the group's three albums plus a pair of soundtrack contributions along with three bonus tracks: the previously unreleased So So Def Remix of "In My Bed" featuring Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat, and Sisqo's solo smashes "Thong Song" and "Incomplete."

High school classmates Jazz, Sisqo, Nokio and Woody formed Dru Hill, named after their Baltimore hood Druid Hill Park, in 1995 and debuted the following year with a self-titled album. The Dru was a sensation right out of the box. Hits includes the platinum album's gold #5 R&B/Top 20 Pop "Tell Me, " platinum #1 R&B/#4 Pop "In My Bed" and gold #1 R&B/#7 Pop "Never Make A Promise" as well as #7 R&B "5 Steps."

Before its next album, the Dru was heard on the soundtrack to "Def Jam's How To Be A Player" with "Big Bad Mamma, " a #10 R&B hit from Foxy Brown featuring Dru Hill, and the soundtrack to "Soul Food" with the Babyface-penned "We're Not Making Love No More, " a #2 R&B/Top 15 Pop hit that also went gold. 1998's Enter The Dru boasted yet another gold hit with the #1 R&B/#3 Pop "How Deep Is Your Love" featuring Redman. Also contributing to Hits is the double platinum disc's "These Are The Times" (#5 R&B/Top 30 Pop), two R&B Top 30s in "Beauty" and "You Are Everything, " and "The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind)."

Sisqo then launched his solo career with the Y2K-issued "Thong Song" (#2 R&B/#3 Pop) and platinum "Incomplete" (#1 R&B/#1 Pop). When the Dru returned in 2002 with "Dru World Order, " Sisqo was back in the fold, which had grown into a quintet with the addition of Scola. The gold album scored hits with the #6 R&B/Top 30 Pop "I Should Be..." and Top 30 R&B "I Love You." Hits also includes fan favorite "No Doubt (Work It)."

"Hits -- The Videos" offers the clips for "Tell Me, " "In My Bed, " "Never Make A Promise, " "5 Steps, " "These Are The Times, " "You Are Everything" (in a remix featuring Ja Rule), "I Should Be..., " "I Love You" and Sisqo's "Thong Song" and "Incomplete." Two bonuses are the So So Def Remix of "In My Bed" and a remix of "Thong Song" featuring Foxy Brown. Each video has been digitally remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound and stereo.
