Janiva Magness nominated for Female Blues Artist of The Year

After five years of crossed paths at industry functions and meetings, the ongoing business relationship culminated into an agreement following the 2005 W.C. Handy Awards in Memphis. Crows Feet Productions was independently representing NorthernBlues recording artist Janiva Magness, nominated for Female Blues Artist of The Year. "We are all delighted to have Crows Feet on board, " says Fred Litwin, president of NorthernBlues Music. "Our two outfits have many similarities – both established in 2000 with comparable corporate backgrounds and most importantly the desire to present blues & roots music with originality and crossover potential, different from the norm."

NorthernBlues Music releases two albums on September 13 topping off a successful year of music. Canadian musicians, Doug Cox and Sam Hurrie, two of the best acoustic blues guitarists get together for an inspired session of blues and roots entitled "Hungry Ghosts." Brian Blain’s "Overqualified for the Blues" delivers folk blues with lyrics that tell stories of our times, delivered with humor and sensitivity backed by a guitar style that is raw and powerful.

NorthernBlues Music, founded in 2000 by Fred Litwin, stretches the boundaries of the blues, finding unique artists that offer distinctive interpretations. The roster includes Mem Shannon, Janiva Magness, David Jacobs-Strain, Doug Cox & Sam Hurrie, Chris Beard, Eddie Turner, Brian Blain, JW-Jones Blues Band, Paul Reddick, Glamour Puss, Carlos del Junco, John and the Sisters (Kevin Breit), Taxi Chain, Toni Lynn Washington, James Cohen, Dan Treanor and Rita Chiarelli.
