Jazz in the City of Sydney 2005 QVB Jazz festival

Jazz in the city of Sydney, the QVB Jazz Festival 2005 promises to be an exciting weekend event at the beautiful Queen Victoria Building with performances by Viva the band, an exciting jazz and salsa band plus some of Sydney’s best entertainers and musicians including: Amando Hurley, Doug Williams, John Leigh Calder, Delilah, Kerrie Biddell and James Morrison band.

Viva the band will have just returned from a month of concert performances in Taiwan. The band performed in Taiwan previously in August 2004 where they were showcased over a two week period in a street parade a welcome by the mayor of Tainan and a series of live concerts and television performances.

Recent performances by Viva the band include the 18th Yalumba Jazz Festival at Thredbo, the Australian Maritime Museum for “Discovery After Dark” and the Miss World ball at the Four Points by Sheraton, Darling Harbour and the Manly Food and wine festival.

The band regularly perform at jazz festivals and major music events including: Manly International Jazz Festival, Newcastle Jazz Festival, Morpeth Jazz Festival, Kiama Jazz Festival, Illawarra Jazz Festival, Central Coast Jazz Leagues, Gold Coast Jazz Festival, Thredbo Jazz Festival and Sydney Olympic Park and Darling Harbour music events.

The band perform a rich tapestry of music skillfully blending a mixture of: jazz, swing, latin, gypsy jazz, salsa, French, Spanish Songs and classic show tunes. The band have become very popular at functions, parties and special events, delighting their audiences with their unique and varied styles of music presented in an entertaining cabaret style.

The members of Viva are Peter Rappolt (guitar) Marie Rappolt (accordion and bass) Gerri Santos (vocals and percussion) Jose Santos (Vocals and congas).

The Sydney QVB Jazz festival will be held on the 20th and 21st August
