Sable Winters Performed at Club de Jazz in Santiago, Chile - South America

Renaissance jazz connoisseurs are asking, "Who is Sable Winters?" Answer is she's a fresh self-assured and dynamic voice that's a blend of Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter and Carmen McRae. Yet during live performances she clearly stands proudly apart from her mentors. Destined to become an esteemed member of the updated new history of jazz, Sable's rich vocal vibrato and sensuous entertainment style cannot be land-locked. It's otherworldly.

Sable Winters' booking and marketing camp remains mindful of her international performance schedule and goals. On Thursday, February 24th, 2005, Sable was invited to perform with other international musicians at the bohemian charm of Club de Jazz in Santiago, Chile. The visit was coordinated with a business trip along with her husband's parent company. Sort of a second honeymoon. On this particular night during their stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Santiago, word came about to the bar staff that a jazz singer from America was in the house. They had stopped off in the lounge for a quick cocktail while awaiting their car. 1+1=2 and a bar staffer requested a song or two. Sable was obliged to deliver. The lounge pianists talent was uniquely superior though he did not speak English. We do wish to offer much thanks.

Off to Club de Jazz. The club opened where a vocal ensemble set lead by Marcelo Vergara (Marcelo Andrés Vergara Martínez) was delightful. It was a very well rehearsed and the four members delivered a stellar Latin jazz performance including some solos by the other member musicians, including one enchanting female vocalist (unknown). The second and final set was delivered by Sable Winters supported by two other international musicians. On guitar was Federico Dannemann and on bass, Pablo Lecaros.

Sable had such a blast jamming with these competent musicians. They hardly speak a word of each other's language, but they each were successful at speaking the universal language that is music. For this improvised set there was no need for charts or arrangements. All these guys needed was a single acappella bar and off they ran like a freight train. Some songs included Tenderly and a smooth jazz interpretation of So Many Stars, which was of significant appeal to the Chilean audience. The audience was intimate, but large in their appreciation and enthusiasm.
