About the author
Lev Kolosov started to collect stamps in 1946 while a school boy continuing his father collection which was started in 1929.
His main interests are:
- pre- 1917 Byelorussian postal history
- Byelorussian postal history in the period 1917-1945
- Russian field postal history of WWII
Apart of stamp collecting Lev Kolosov is a well known author of articles in Byelorussian newspapers about philately in general and Byelorussian philately in particular. His articles were published in philatelic magazines in Russia, Poland, Cuba, Germany, France, and some other ( totally more than 3.000 publications ). Also Lev Kolosov is an author of two books:
- Byelorussian postal roads, 1982. - A story of Byelorussian postal services from the beginning to the date.
- Philately about Byelorussia, 1984. - Byelorussian thematic at world stamp and commemorative postmarks.
