WBGO | Newark Public Radio Welcomes "Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey" NEWARK, NJ – Joining more than 60 stations across North America, WBGO | Newark Public Radio welcomes the popular, non-commercial, listener supported series "Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey" to its weekday schedule beginning May 12. “We’re pleased to bring this exceptionally gifted, extraordinarily compatible duo to our award-winning program roster, ” remarked Steven A. Williams, WBGO President and CEO. “John and Jessica are accomplished and beloved performing artists across the globe, and among the many accolades they share is the adulation of legions of followers of their long-running weekly radio show , which airs on more than 60 stations nationwide. WBGO is honored to be the home of this terrific program on their home turf” Pizzarelli is New Jersey native who is widely recognized as one of the most gifted singer-guitarists of the past three decades. The son of legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, John is a successful recording artist with more than 30 recordings to his credit; an in demand jazz concert performer, and a frequent contributor to radio programs, podcasts and television programs across the globe. Wolcott, CT, native Jessica Molaskey has appeared in 12 Broadway shows, including Sunday in the Park with George, Tommy, Crazy for You, Chess, Oklahoma!, Cats, City of Angels and the first national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Her Off-Broadway work includes Jason Robert Brown’s musical Songs for a New World, A Man of No Importance, Parade at Lincoln Center, Dream True at the Vineyard Theatre, Stephen Sondheim’s Wise Guys and The Most Happy Fella for the Encores! Series at City Center. She also performed the role of Sister Bertha in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live! starring Carrie Underwood. Her recordings as a solo artist include Pentimento, A Good Day, Make Believe, Sitting in Limbo, A Kiss to Build a Dream On and Portraits of Joni. Jessica’s recordings with John include Sinatra and Jobim at 50, Double Exposure and Midnight McCartney. John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey, who are jazz radio’s only husband-and-wife show hosts, confirm the New York Times’ proclamation that the duo is, “as good as it gets in any entertainment medium."
