On Wednesday April 9, two world class performers, Linwood Taylor and Sol Roots, join forces for a powerful concert of deep blues, energetic rock and funk, and heartfelt soul.

Experience an electrifying night of blues and soul as Linwood Taylor, a bluesman steeped in the traditions of Howlin’ Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, and Albert Collins, takes the stage at Takoma Station in Washington D.C. Known for his raw energy and mastery of the guitar, Taylor has shared stages with legends like Albert Collins, Devon Allman, Joe Louis Walker, Larry McCray, and recorded with iconic artists such as H.R. of Bad Brains.

Known for his fierce guitar playing and unmatched authenticity, Linwood brings decades of experience and a deep respect for blues traditions to every performance. His energetic, gritty style and rich musical roots have earned him a devoted fanbase nationwide.​

Joining him is his longtime friend Sol Roots, an internationally acclaimed artist whose own band blends New Orleans influenced funk, deep blues, upbeat jazz, and heartfelt soul into a captivating groove. Sol’s extensive career includes collaborations with blues pioneers like Taj Mahal, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Robert Lee Coleman, and Cool John Ferguson, as well as sharing bills artists such as Robert Randolph, Jon Cleary, The Wood Brothers, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, and Shemekia Copeland.

Sol is celebrated for his funky blues and soulful vocals, and has toured with heavyweights like Taj Mahal, Albert White, Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, and shared the stage with the Grammy-winning Lee Boys. Sol's music flows with elements of blues, funk, jazz and soul, creating a fresh yet timeless sound that resonates with all kinds of music lovers. With a reputation as a "musician’s musician, " Sol brings an eclectic blend of talent and soul to every note.​
