Mark O'Leary The White Album hite Album Genre: Free Jazz, Jazz-Rock, Fusion Mp3 Album Available on the Best Internet Retailers All compositions: Mark O’Leary Mark O’Leary: Guitar Paul Motian: Drums John Patitucci: Double Bass Kenny Werner: Piano The predicate for the decision to endeavor to travel to New York City, the epicentre of the essence of Jazz manifested from several original compositions. Some of the compositions were initially performed with local musicians and in my own bands, to be local is to be global as per Jacques Ellul. Then I had the opportunity to perform them in a Quartet with Kenny Wheeler, which ironically was performed in between the initial run of Disco Pigs featuring Cillian Murphy. In a very well received duo concert with Kenny Werner, as well as a trio with Henri Texier and Aldo Romano, again very well received, as well as in a series of duo concerts with Bobo Stenson. So, there was an opportunity to got to Brooklyn and record. Paul Motian was the drummer I was hoping to use. Then John Patitucci kindly agreed to do the recording. First time since my rock band days pre America that I had been to a studio in juxtaposition to the first time in New York. To be succinct, the recording was a fantastic experience, with my recording renascent, over the course of a few days we managed to complete the album. Then to post production, all had to be cobbled together, not too dissimilar from Led Zeppelin II. So we managed to produce a very nice recording, in a congenial, bonhomie atmosphere. |
