A meticulously produced album “The Sound of Puerto Rican Jazz” is produced and is the brainchild of Jazz artist and trombone virtuoso, William Cepeda.

Carefully crafted and directed, “The Sound of Puerto Rican Jazz” allows for the listeners to experience the unique rhythms and sounds that are delivered when Afro-Puerto Rican Roots and Jazz meet at the crossroads and make for an adventurous musical highway ride.

William Cepeda hails from the heart of Puerto Rico's "Little Africa" and is known as the creator of Puerto Rican Jazz, a sub-genre that merges traditional Afro-Puerto Rican roots with progressive Jazz.

“A protegé of Dizzy Gillespie, and member of the United Nations Orchestra… he has also performed with Lester Bowie and his Brass Fantasy, David Murray, James Moody, Steve Turre, Bobby Watson, Miriam Makeba, and Slide Hampton & The Jazz Masters.” In the Latin realm Mr Cepeda made his name performing with “Tito Puente, Paquito D’Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Rubén Blades, and Oscar de León” Latin Jazz Net.

With influences ranging from Dizzy Gillespie (as well as a disciple of Gillespie) to Miriam Makeba, William Cepeda’s music transcends borders, captivating audiences worldwide. He is a member of the renowned Cepeda Family, one of Puerto Rico's most distinguished Afro Puerto Rican folk ensembles.
