He is able to closely emulate such greats as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin (among others), not by satirizing their gestures but by inhabiting their musical personalities. Due to his rare talents, Anderson found a musical home in Las Vegas and performed around the world for decades. Now on Bob Anderson LIVE!, one gets to hear him sing in his own voice while staking his claim as one of the top ballad and swing singers around today. Joined by a large orchestra that includes pianist Vince Falcone and guitarist Joe Lano, Anderson sounds very much at the peak of his powers while putting on a performance full of warmth, sensitivity, and a variety of emotions. The set begins with Bob’s original “So Much Music in Me, ” a happy piece that sums up his musical philosophy and the joy of singing. Among the other highpoints are a heartfelt and ultimately triumphant “Come Rain Or Come Shine, ” the swinging “The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else, ” a slow and quite dramatic rendition of “My Heart Stood Still, ” and his rendering of the humorous lyrics of “I Won’t Send Roses.” Anderson takes a memorable duet with pianist Falcone on Leonard Bernstein’s “Some Other Time.” The singer is quite expressive on “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life.” Displaying his power and his ability to build up performances, he climaxes both “I Do Not Know A Day I Did Not Love You” and “Lost In The Stars” with a remarkably endless note. Bob Anderson’s rise to fame began in 1973 when at the last minute he substituted for the Everly Brothers as the opening act in Las Vegas for Nancy Sinatra. He impressed everyone during the two week engagement and appeared with Nancy Sinatra on the Merv Griffin Show. Invited to Griffin’s 50th birthday party, an event filled with celebrities, Anderson sang songs in the voices of other singers (including Johnny Mathis, Tom Jones and Robert Goulet), creating a sensation. Soon he was being featured not only on the Merv Griffin Show but virtually every television variety show including the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Anderson has since performed in 30 different countries, appeared on television over 200 times, and is believed to have performed in more Las Vegas show rooms than any other entertainer. He has been inducted into Casino Legends Hall of Fame and The Las Vegas Entertainer’s Hall of Fame. Anderson’s show FRANK The Man The Music, a re-enactment of a Frank Sinatra performance, won many awards.
