FAENA LIVE ANNOUNCES THE 4th ANNUAL FAENA JAZZ SERIES AT FAENA THEATER Faena Live is proud to announce the return of the 4th Annual Faena Jazz Series, presenting six concerts by emerging and established artists such as Robben Ford, Samara Joy, Miguel Zenon and Raul Midon and produced and curated by Grammy-nominated record producer and artist Rachel Faro. In keeping with Faena’s commitment to delivering unparalleled offerings and experiences, once again jazz lovers from South Florida and beyond are invited to enjoy the sounds of great jazz at the intimate and glamorous Faena Theater at Faena Hotel Miami Beach. The series kicks off on January 26th with guitar great Robben Ford and his quartet of Nashville-based players and closes on June 15th with a special Father’s Day show with legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa and his Latin Jazz Ensemble. FAENA JAZZ SERIES 2022 - FULL LINEUP ROBBEN FORD Wednesday January 26th at 8 PM The season opens with Robben Ford, one of the world’s premier electric guitarists. Robben is a five-time Grammy nominee with eighteen18 albums. A spectacular musician, Robben has played with Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Michael MacDonald, Bob Dylan, Stevie Winwood and is a founding member of the esteemed Grammy-winning Yellowjackets. Joining Robben will be his band of superb Nashville musicians, playing music from his most recent album “Pure”. SAMARA JOY with PASQUALE DE GRASSO Wednesday February 9th at 8 PM There's a new rising star on the jazz scene and her name is Samara Joy. Only 21 years old and a winner of the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, the Bronx-born Samara interprets the Great American Songbook with equal parts reverence and verve, bridging traditional jazz and a young modern approach. She will be joined by guitar virtuoso Pasquale de Grasso with whom she recently toured Europe and who also backed her on her debut album, released in July 2021. RAUL MIDON Wednesday March 9th at 8 PM We are very enthusiastic and honored to be presenting Raul Midon, a multiple Grammy-nominated blind singer and guitarist whose exciting solo act has thrilled audiences the world over. In addition to his own eleven albums he has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and many others. An alumnus of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, he was recently granted the Distinguished Alumni Award, the school’s most prestigious honor. MIGUEL ZENON with THE STAMPS QUINTET Wednesday April 13th at 8 PM A multiple Grammy nominee, recipient of the MacArthur Genius Grant and a Guggenheim Fellow, saxophonist/ composer/educator Miguel Zenon is considered one of today’s most distinguished Latin jazz musicians. He will be joined by the Stamps Quintet, a notable student ensemble from UM’s Frost School of Music which is supported by the Stamps Family Foundation. HALIE LOREN Wednesday May 18th at 8 PM Halie Loren is an international, award-winning jazz singer/songwriter who brings a fresh perspective to time-honored musical paths. Her romantic, silky voice and glamorous presence have forged bonds with diverse audiences across the globe, with stops in Korea, Africa, Canada and a huge following in Japan. Her many albums invariably hit the #1 slot on Canadian and Japanese jazz charts with over 230, 000 monthly listeners on Spotify. SAMMY FIGUEROA & HIS LATIN JAZZ ENSEMBLE A FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL Wednesday June 15th at 8 PM Famed and multiple Grammy nominee percussionist Sammy Figueroa returns to the Faena Theatre in a special tribute to his father, the 1950’s romantic singer Charlie Figueroa, with songs from Sammy’s latest album “Searching For A Memory" (to be released in spring 2022).
