| Sony Tries to Impress Hollywood's Stars with PlayStation 3 Sony has been joined by the hottest stars in entertainment, including Chris Rock and Lindsay Lohan to celebrate the PlayStation 3's debut, which will ship on November 17. The exclusive event took place at a Beverly Hills landmark and showcased the PlayStation 3's gaming experience and an endless array of cross-media activities in a unique, interactive world where guests were invited to play beyond with innovative installations demonstrating the capabilities of the next generation system. At the invite-only event, David Arquette and Nick Cannon witnessed a new era of gaming, playing PlayStation 3 launch titles such as Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji: Days of the Blade and NBA 07, demonstrating a high definition gaming experience never before possible until PlayStation 3 with its Cell Broadband Engine, RSX graphics processor and high capacity format of Blu-ray Disc. James Franco and Jamie-Lynn Sigler got the chance to view the summer blockbuster from Sony Pictures Entertainment, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby in pristine picture quality on BD. Christina Milian and Nicky Hilton saw how PlayStation 3 goes beyond gaming with its ability to browse the Internet, rip music, store and display photos and upload digital videos. To help celebrate the future of entertainment, hip hop star Diddy gave a special performance to a crowd filled with stars such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The PlayStation 3 system will be available in North America on November 17, 2006. PlayStation 3 includes some advanced technologies, such as the Cell Broadband Engine, built-in BD player, internal hard disk drive, HDMI output standard, SIXAXIS wireless and network capability - everything required to start enjoying the PS3 right out of the box.
