| First Class Simulations Release Great Eastern All aboard for the next First Class Simulations service from London to Ipswich in the form of Great Eastern. Created by Making Tracks, Great Eastern takes you on a journey from London's Liverpool Street to Ipswich, covering a distance of around eighty miles. Featuring branch lines to Southend Victoria, Southminster, Clacton, Walton-on-the-Naze and Harwich Town, their inclusion enables the player to experience inner city train driving or single track country lines and amounts to an extra fifty miles of track to explore. Set during the time immediately after Network SouthEast had updated to their brand new 'toothpaste' livery, the years 1988-1992 allow for a greater choice of stock. This Microsoft Train Simulator expansion pack includes a wide selection of classic AC multiple units and their more modern replacements plus a range of mainline diesel locomotives too. Multiple units running alongside loco-hauled trains into the impressive, recently modernised London Liverpool Street Terminus are very much a feature of this four-year period. Great Eastern also features single track diesel-only branch lines through to high speed non-stop express services. The 1988 - 1992 era included the recent completion of 25Kv overhead electrification along the whole route covered. At that time, Class 86 Electric locomotives were starting to replace Class 47 Diesel locomotives on London to Norwich express services. These developments are reflected throughout Great Eastern.
