Playlogic Becomes Officially Licensed PSP Publisher

Playlogic Entertainment says that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, based in London, has licensed the company as official PSP publisher. The Licensed Publisher Agreement for the PlayStation Portable grants Playlogic the rights to publish and develop application software for the PlayStation Portable in the territory of Europe, Middle-East and Africa, Australia and New Zealand plus all other countries which are members of the European Union or have otherwise implemented the Treaty on a European Economic Area (such as PAL countries).

Playlogic was given publisher status based on its internally developed PSP title "Xyanide Resurrection", which is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2007. "Xyanide" is a classical 2D/3D shoot-'m-up game, where the player takes over the role of Drake, a government executioner from the planet Mardar. Drake's mission is to capture the escaped evil witch Aguira and bring her back to the Judge. Aguira uses the mythical power of Xyanide to transform worlds and create creatures and obstacles to keep Drake from capturing her. This game uses a new technology never seen before on the PSP or any other handheld. High quality interactive video backdrop seamlessly integrates with real-time game sceneries to deliver high quality graphics and effects on the PSP.
