| A Story about One Battle... This operation seemed to augur no ill. A small city on the western coast of Saudi Arabia... and nobody could even imagine that in this very sector Taliban will team up with the debris of the Saudi Royal Army and that common sweep operations will cause a long-drawn nightmare street massacre. A geopolitical situation seemed to be conspiring against the Americans. Taliban managed to contract an alliance with the debris of the Saudi Family (it happened because of the American severe roughness on the conquered territory). The rate of Americans was increasingly falling, the Congress was constantly cutting back on new arms programs, and, as a result, they had to save money on combat operations. The reconnaissance worked in more important locations, that's why they had to enter the sector "by feel". Thus, nothing augured any ill, so there were neither engineers, nor supplies trucks in the army. This might have been a vital error in the operational planning. All the vacant slots of the American general were stuffed with merely tanks, rangers and "delta".
