ProSIM Unleashes Another Patch Barrage

Hot on the heels of updating Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War, and The Star and the Crescent, comes two more patches from ProSIM Company and publisher Shrapnel Games available for download. Brand new updates are now ready for both ATF: Armored Task Force and The Falklands War: 1982.

The ATF: Armored Task Force patch brings the game up to version 1.07 and includes the following two modifications:

* Regardless of display size, oversized obstacles are now rendered correctly. On some smaller displays a bug would prevent some oversized obstacles from displaying properly when the obstacle was drawn with a near vertical long axis. This has now been corrected. (General fix to the ATF engine).
* Sometimes in a remote situation the direct fire ammunition carrier uploads did not work. This is now corrected. (General fix to the ATF engine).

The Falklands War: 1982 patch, which incorporates the general ATF engine fixes mentioned above, brings the game up to version 1.23. The following changes are included with this patch:

* Regardless of display size, oversized obstacles are now rendered correctly. On some smaller displays a bug would prevent some oversized obstacles from displaying properly when the obstacle was drawn with a near vertical long axis. This has now been corrected. (General fix to the ATF engine).
* Sometimes in a remote situation the direct fire ammunition carrier uploads did not work. This is now corrected. (General fix to the ATF engine).
* Upgraded maps now make it easier for users to differentiate between the units and the background, along with a general overall enhancement to gameplay.
* Indirect fire systems have been altered to better reflect their historical results on the battlefield. Argentinean artillery was less effective than their British counterparts because they did not use airburst fuses, but rather directly hit the soft peat of the Falklands.

ATF: Armored Task Force is not only a modern combat simulation, but also the powerhouse sim engine that is used by The Falklands War: 1982 (along with Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War and The Star and the Crescent). Currently ProSIM Company is working on their next simulation engine, the first game of which will be Air Assault Task Force. Air Assault Task Force will cover a spectrum of airmobile operations, from Vietnam up to the current War on Terror.
