| EVE Online reaches the 100,000 subscriber mark CCP Games announced that its flagship product EVE Online has reached 100,000 active game subscribers and is maintaining the robust subscription growth trend of the past year. This milestone for CCP Games follows the announcement of EVE Online being voted Best Game in the 2005 MMORPG.COM Reader's Choice Awards, and the release of its Red Moon Rising edition to subscribers. EVE Online has distinguished itself within the industry by setting the world Peak Concurrent Users record in a persistent, single game universe, currently at 23,178 users. The game also utilizes a time-based leveling system, in which the progression of player abilities is independent of the time spent in-game. Later this month, CCP Games will complete the implementation of a total overhaul of EVE Online's hardware infrastructure, featuring 64-bit architecture provided by IBM. The state-of-the-art hardware will more than double the capacity of the existing game universe and provide significant improvements to in-game performance, particularly during peak server usage. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Game News :: home page |
