WCG 2005 Results of Grand Final Group Drawing & PC Specs

The World Cyber Games (WCG) committee announced the results for the Grand Final group drawing 'live' on its official website, which are currently posted at www.worldcybergames.com. 40, 000 attempted to qualify, 184 contested the US Final and now 16 will represent the US in Singapore.

The US team, identical twin brothers known as the 'Ogre Twins' who are considered by many as the tournament favorites for Halo 2, will face off against the Netherlands for supremacy of Group D. Colombia, Canada and Switzerland make up the rest of the group, fighting for just two tickets to the single elimination tournament.

In round one, first time finalists Team Pakistan and Team United Arab Emirates will get a chance at World Cyber Games glory as they face 2004 gold medalists and top ranked favorites, Team 3D from the United States. This will be the fourth consecutive WCG appearances for Team 3D's KSharp (Kyle Miller) and Rambo (Ronald Kim). To win the gold this year Team 3D must also get past the state sponsored Team Singapore who prepared for the Grand Final at a specially prepared training camp.

In a twist of fate, U.S. and Mexican players have been drawn together in Group C of FIFA Soccer 2005. Avid soccer fans already know all about the historic rivalry between these two soccer neighbors. Will the US be able to prevail, this time in cyber space? Rounding out the group sees players from Turkey, Vietnam, Columbia and Bulgaria challenge for the right to advance to the quarter-finals.

U.S. qualifier for WarCraft III, Dennis Chan, is drawn against opponents from Ecuador, Switzerland and Brazil in an attempt to better a 4th place showing at WCG 2004 and go all the way to the gold.
