| Enjoy Rummy games Online or on your PC YPR Software has released Rummi v. 5, a full-featured, challenging collection of tile and card rummy games for Windows. Rummi lets two to four players combine strategy and luck to outwit and outplay or computer opponents, or go online and play against friends or strangers from around the world. Rummi lets you play against up to three of your friends, on your home network or on the Internet. The latest version of Rummi makes it much easier to play on the web. Anybody with an Internet connection can access the game, as easily as they would access a web site with their favorite browser. To play with family or friends across the globe, simply type your password, and the Rummi server will match you with your friends. Alternatively, you can choose to play Rummi against strangers. The latest version also offers a new Rummi online ladder competition. If you'd like to try to outrank other Rummi players, the Rummi server will keep track of your wins and losses, and will post your results on the Rummi ladder. Earn more points by challenging - and defeating - successful, experienced players. Rummi offers six computer opponents, each with different personalities and game strategies. Select your opponents' skill levels, from easy to expert, and play against one, two, or three of them. The program offers many variations of Manipulation Rummy. The basic rules are simple: Each player is dealt 14 cards from a double deck. In turns, each player plays cards in runs or sets. You can reorder cards already on the table. If you cannot play, you draw a card from the pool. The first one to play all of their cards wins the game. The games are easy to learn, but challenging to master. In addition to a wide selection of built-in games, the game editor lets you design your own game version, with its own set of rules. You and your friends can enjoy a game that is fun and laid-back, or intensely competitive. Rummi comes with various sets of cards and tiles, including fantasy elements like Maya pebbles. There is a library of additional cards and tiles that you can download without charge from the Rummi web site. You can even design your own cards and tiles. The program has built-in themes, with various graphics and sounds. You can design custom Rummi themes, too, enabling you to tailor Rummi to your personal preferences. Rummi makes it simple for beginners to get started. The latest version of Rummi has a built-in tutorial that makes it easy to learn both the game rules and the program. You can take advantage of the informative popup tips to learn the rules. You can also ask the computer to give you a hint before any play. It's easy to undo and redo your moves, and you can save games and resume them later. Rummi keeps statistics on each player. The game's interface can be set to English, German, French, or Dutch. Additional languages will be available for download, with Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese versions planned for the coming weeks. Whether you're a seasoned Manipulation Rummy player who wants the challenge of playing against a variety of computer and live opponents, or a casual game player who wants a relaxing, low-key intellectual challenge, Rummi provides game players, young and old, with hours of fun. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Game News :: home page |
