| Pac-Man rolls out for his zaniest adventure to date Pac-Man returns in Pac 'N Roll his second outing on the Nintendo DS. Our yellow hero has been transformed into a sphere by Golvis, the world's most Rock and Roll ghost! Using the stylus, players must keep a steady hand to manoeuvre the spherical Pac-Man successfully through myriad challenging courses set in a colourful, lavishly animated 3D world. Celebrations in the Floating Castle are suddenly disturbed by a UFO emitting a Ghost Beam, turning Pac-Land into Ghost-Land. Everyone has been turned into a sphere and the Ghosts have kidnapped Pac-Man's family and girlfriend. Pac-Man must roll his way through Ghost-Land, collecting pellets while saving his family and defeating the evil Golvis. Pac 'N Roll utilises the Nintendo DS touch screen to full effect with intuitive track-ball-like controls, allowing you to roll and dash around the environments, flicking Pac-Man in the direction in which you wish to travel. Mastery of skills such as braking, speed-bursting and shaking off enemies are all essential as you clear the stages. On his travels, Pac-Man will encounter various power-ups like "Winged Chocolate", allowing him to fly and jump over ghosts, or "Knight Chocolate", providing armour to crash through walls and navigating obstacles underwater. By collecting the jewels which appear on each stage, players can unlock Challenge Mode in which various conditions must be met for success. Pac 'N Roll also includes the original Pac-Man arcade game offering classic retro action for up to two players. Pac 'N Roll goes on sale in the UK on 28th October 2005 at the estimated retail price of around ?30. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Game News :: home page |
