FACHPACK 2025 – the must-do event for the packaging industry

From 23 to 25 September 2025, the packaging sector will gather in Nuremberg again for FACHPACK, the European trade fair for packaging, technology and processing. At NürnbergMesse, preparations are in full swing. The around 1,400 exhibitors expected will be spread over 11 exhibition halls.

Ninety percent of the display area has already been booked. As always, trade visitors can look forward to an exciting supporting programme alongside a wealth of products and services.

The focus is on packaging and packaging accessories, as well as innovative solutions from the packaging technology segment. Both these main segments are complemented by solutions for the printing and finishing of packaging and for intra-logistics. For trade visitors from packaging-intensive sectors like food, beverages, luxury foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, health care, non-food, pet food and other consumer goods, but also automotive, technical articles, medical devices and various other industrial goods, FACHPACK 2025 is an event not to be missed.

In 2025, FACHPACK participants can again look forward to a wide-ranging supporting programme that is simply unmissable. In both FACHPACK forums, industry experts provide insights into current challenges, explore opportunities, trends and concrete strategies, and offer solutions to topical issues. In the PACKBOX forum, the focus is on forward-looking topics like the use of artificial intelligence in development and production, strategies for implementing the EU Packaging Directive (PPWR), circular economy models, and international market trends. There will also be an in-depth exploration of issues relating to sustainable materials and regulatory developments. In the INNOVATIONBOX exhibitor forum, FACHPACK exhibitors will again showcase their new products and process innovations in short and snappy presentations.

The networking event 'Women4Packaging' goes into its second round this year. The aim is to give women working in the industry – whether exhibitors or trade visitors –a platform where they can share knowledge and ideas, learn from one another, and provide mutual support. This year, the focus is on practical aspects, and various stations on different topics are planned. Also back this year is the Alternative Packaging Solutions Pavilion in Hall 3, which showcases innovative packaging materials made from renewable resources. In this context, FACHPACK is again cooperating with packaging design agency Pacoon, which will present various focus topics relating to alternative and sustainable packaging solutions in the moderated forum SOLPACK 6.0.

On the third day of the fair, the STUDENT DAY will return to FACHHPACK in partnership with the German Packaging Institute (dvi). The event aims to foster interaction and dialogue between company representatives and around 100 students attending courses on packaging technology, sustainability and product design in face-to-face conversations and workshops.

For companies, the benefits are obvious: They can quickly get to know potential future employees (interns, students working on their bachelor's and master's theses, entry-level candidates) in personal conversations. Various workshops also allow them to get fresh ideas and direct feedback from these young people on specific topics or company projects.

In turn, the students enjoy direct contact with practitioners from all areas of the packaging supply chain and benefit from presentations, workshops and discussions on current sustainability issues. They can also learn about issues affecting the future and get to know the trends and best practices in packaging design.

POWTECH TECHNOPHARM, which runs parallel to FACHPACK, is the international trade fair for technologies for processing powders, solids, fluids and liquids in Europe. Thanks to the addition of the TECHNOPHARM component, POWTECH TECHNOPHARM also covers the GxP-compliant manufacture of liquid, semi-solid and solid pharmaceuticals, where solid products play a leading role. As a result, the international trade fair offers solutions for all industries that process powders, granules, bulk solids and liquids: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and animal feed, energy, machinery and equipment manufacturing, plastic and rubber, environment and recycling, cosmetics and skin care and non-metallic minerals (pit and quarry).
