DMEA 2020 to be held as a virtual, free event

Messe Berlin and the German Association of Health IT Vendors (bvitg) have decided to hold this year's DMEA – Connecting Digital Health in June entirely as a virtual event. This follows a decision by Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and the minister presidents of the German States to impose a ban on staging large events until at least 31 August 2020.

16 June 2020 is when the virtual DMEA will be holding its main events, and selected program items will be streamed live. Events scheduled include the eHealth Hot Seat, an interactive format, with CEO Dr. Markus Leyck Dieken. This event as well as many other lectures, talks and panels featuring high-level experts can be viewed live online or on the following days. From 16 to 18 June many exhibitors at DMEA will also be hosting lectures, webinars and product presentations displaying their solutions.

DMEA is Europe's leading event for health IT which gathers decision-makers from every area of the healthcare sector – including IT specialists, physicians, hospital and nursing care executives as well as experts from politics, science and research. In 2019 a total of 11,000 trade visitors came to DMEA to find out about the latest developments and products, acquire qualifications and establish important industry contacts.
