The Restaurant Show 2018: One week to go

The Restaurant Show returns next week and promises to be an event not to be missed for the entire hospitality industry. Celebrating 30 years at the heart of the industry, Olympia London will open its doors on October 1st – 3rd to The Restaurant Show's biggest and best show yet. The programme of events has been announced and the opening day will see an exciting line up of sessions including the discovery of the Midsummer House dishes as Chef Patron Daniel Clifford discusses his tell-all book, Out of my Tree, about making it to the top.

OpenTable will host a panel which explores how the clever use of technology can help restaurants cater to evolving personal preferences, whilst the latest MCA research and annual Restaurant Market Report will be presented by Strategic Advisor, Simon Stenning.

Speakers such as Tom Kerridge, Ruth Hansom, Gary Usher and Neil Rankin will also join the exciting line up, taking part in thought-provoking and topical panel discussions throughout the three days.

Next week will see some of the industry's most prestigious competitions come to an end as finalists compete for the winner's title. The much-anticipated live final of the Craft Guild of Chefs' National Chef of the Year will take place at the Competition Theatre in front of a live audience.

The live final will see 10 chefs go head to head in the race to become the new National Chef of the Year. Visitors who attend the show will make up the live audience, witnessing the intense action in the kitchen. Winners will be announced live at the show; however, you can also watch it via the live stream on social media.

The action takes place under the watchful eye of an impressive line-up of judges including Clare Smyth, Tom Kerridge and Philip Howard. Past winners of the competition include Gordon Ramsay, Mark Sargeant, David Everitt-Matthias, Lou Jones, Bruce Sangster, Simon Hulstone and last year's winner, Luke Selby.

The Restaurant Show will also play host to the Copa Jerez final, Kikkoman Masters and Compass Chef of the Year competitions.

From food & drink, to tableware, technology and the latest kitchen equipment, there will be plenty to try, taste and discover, especially at the show's Bar & Pub and Catering Equipment Expo.

Whether you're looking to find new ingredients for your food menu, technology or equipment to improve efficiency, or you're looking to embrace some of the industry's latest trends, The Restaurant Show is the place to be.

With over 400 suppliers signed up to this year's event, and many revealing new innovations at the show, the three days will offer you the opportunity to discover and network with some of the industry's top suppliers, as well as those new to the industry.
