Countdown to European Coatings Show 2017

From 4 to 6 April 2017, more than 1,100 exhibitors are expected at the European Coatings Show in Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, transforming the seven exhibition halls into a hot spot for the decision-makers and technologies of the paint and coatings industry. At the European Coatings Show you will find raw materials for manufacturing innovative paints and printing inks as well as the associated laboratory, production, testing and measuring technology, adhesive feedstocks and construction chemical precursors. The twoday European Coatings Show Conference starts the day before the exhibition and will be preceded on 2 April by optional pre-conference tutorials.

The European Coatings Show maps the entire process chain for the manufacture of paints and coatings. This leading international fair draws both market leaders and newcomers to Nuremberg. Exhibitors from Europe, Asia and America showcase raw materials, precursors, services, laboratory and production technology, testing and measuring systems, environmental protection and occupational safety. On all three days of the show, product presentations in halls 1, 5 and 7 provide an overview of the use, impact and technical details of the products displayed and the new kinds of services available.

Three international pavilions
The strong international flavour of the European Coatings Show is underscored by three national pavilions, where vendors from China, the Czech Republic and South Korea jointly showcase their respective areas of expertise.

Platform for innovations: start-up pavilion
Another stand combines the offerings of German start-ups. The pavilion for young, innovative companies once again promises to be an Eldorado for trade fair visitors looking for the latest developments and technologies.

Knowledge transfer at the European Coatings Show Conference
The two-day European Coatings Show Conference starts on Monday 3 April 2017, a day before the show. It is kicked off by a plenary session with a keynote address by Renaud Nicola˙ from the ESPCI (École Supérieure de Physiques et de Chimie Industrielles de la Ville de Paris), who will speak about covalent bonds for realising new coating properties. The session "Science Today – Coatings Tomorrow" will provide the latest R&D results and explore what the coatings of the future will look like. In addition, experts will discuss the following topics in no less than 24 sessions:

• Pigments
• Powder coatings
• Waterborne coatings
• Surface active agents
• Printing inks
• Production technology
• Functional coatings
• Facade paints
• 2K industrial coatings
• Antimicrobial coatings
• Radiation curing
• Adhesives and sealants
• Construction chemicals (I/II)
• Polyurethanes (I/II)
• Protective coatings (I/II)
• Testing and measuring (I/II)
• Architectural coatings
• New materials
• Bio-based coatings

As in the past, the best conference submission will receive the European Coatings Show Award. The presentation of this coveted award will take place during the plenary session. On Sunday 2 April, pre-conference tutorials on ten fundamental topics will provide an initial overview of the current status of coatings research.
