“Build Fair Alliance” successfully launched

India: five events, three German exhibition companies, one venue. For the first time, from 23 to 25 February 2017, all the trade fairs staged by the "Build Fair Alliance" (BFA) construction trade fair consortium, founded on the initiative of NürnbergMesse India, were held in Greater Noida near New Delhi. Within this framework, around 55,000 trade visitors were provided with the opportunity to obtain information from more than 1,000 exhibitors on a broad spectrum of various construction-related themes and technologies at a venue with short routes.

Peter Ottmann, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, is convinced: "The Build Fair Alliance bundles the specialist know-how from the participating sectors and offers synergies for exhibitors and visitors. In addition to that, it was very gratifying to experience the harmonious cooperation between three German exhibition companies in India." For Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, it is particularly the synergies which are the focal point: "Due to the parallel staging of all five trade fairs, over the three days New Delhi was the trade fair hotspot for the Indian construction sector. The premiere of this previously unique construction trade fair alliance was thus a complete success."

The India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) in Greater Noida opened its doors on 23 February and transformed itself into the central showcase for the Indian construction industry: here, for three days, the five trade fairs forming the Build Fair Alliance presented new products, innovations and trends from various segments of the construction industry.

NürnbergMesse India intensifying partnership
The Build Fair Alliance was founded in 2016 on the initiative of NürnbergMesse India by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE). ACREX India, the trade fair for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration technology, FENSTERBAU FRONTALE INDIA, the fair for doors, windows and facades, and the FIRE & SECURITY INDIA EXPO (FSIE) offering solutions in the sector of structural and building fire protection, were staged by NürnbergMesse India. Messe Frankfurt India and the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) participated with the international trade fair for sanitary installation technology, ISH India, powered by IPA. Messe Düsseldorf India presented trends and innovations in the glass industry with the glasspro INDIA. The next edition of the BFA will be held from 22 - 24.02.2018 in Bangalore.

BFA creates a business platform on an international level
"The aim of the Build Fair Alliance was and is to offer a business platform of international standing, which covers the various aspects of the Indian building and construction sector", says Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India. "The five construction trade fairs within the BFA possess a comprehensive thematic portfolio for the Indian market. This year, for the first time, we linked the entire spectrum of themes in the construction industry and, as a result, provided the total of around 55, 000 visitors with a broad overview of the sector. The exhibiting companies noticeably benefited from a higher number of interested sector experts."

Growing demand for modern construction technology
With this premiere, the BFA is responding to the increasing demand for modern construction technology in India. The country continues to be one of the fastest-growing economies in the world with economic growth of 7.6% in the 2015/16 period. This coupled with the increasing number of inhabitants is generating a continually increasing demand for new, modern fitted buildings. In addition, in 2015, the Indian government initiated the "Smart Cities Mission", a campaign for the development of intelligent and sustainable cities with a modern infrastructure. Consequently, the prospects for the Indian construction industry are very promising and the future-orientated sector harbours great potential for the Build Fair Alliance.
