Nordstil - The best in the north

Retailers looking for new products for the coming season can be sure of finding them at Nordstil – Regional Order Days – in Hamburg from 14 to 16 January 2017. Altogether, 969 exhibitors (winter 2016: 975) have signed up to present the latest trends and lifestyle products for the coming season. 793 of them come from Germany and 176 from abroad. At Nordstil, buyers have the opportunity to discover everything from clear Scandinavian furnishing, via stationery and souvenirs, to green fashions, delicate fashion accessories and choice gourmet gifts. Occupying ten exhibition halls with a total of 63,000 square metres of gross exhibition space (winter 2016: 63,800), the exhibitors show their products in six main product segments – Style & Design, House & Garden, Gifts & Stationary, Jewellery & Fashion, Kitchen & Gourmet and Relaxation & Well-Being – whereby House & Garden is a redefined segment occupying four exhibition halls (A1, B3, B4 and B5). This year, the 'Gifts & Stationery' segment at the winter edition of Nordstil is to be found not only in Hall A3 but also, additionally, in Hall A2.

"Nordstil is the regional barometer and the winter edition in January offers ideal conditions for retailers wanting to place orders for the spring and summer seasons. Additionally, the new layout provides optimum guidance for buyers so they can find their way around quickly and order efficiently", says Philipp Ferger, Group Show Director Nordstil. In this connection, Brigitte Nolte, CEO of the North German Retail Association (Handelsverband Nord) in Hamburg, says, "Nordstil is an important meeting place for the retail trade in North Germany. It is not only a venue where orders are placed for the coming season but also a source of information and the setting for events covering the complete retail spectrum. We are delighted that this meeting place in Hamburg holds a fixed place in the trade-fair calendar."

The Nordstil complementary programme of events
With numerous special exhibitions and lectures, the complementary programme of events is one of the keys to Nordstil's success. Thus, the Nordstil Forum in Hall B1 is characterised by a wide-ranging and interesting programme covering subjects of topical relevance to the retail trade. In Hall A4, many of the newcomers in the Northern Lights area focus on ways in which people can create things themselves and introduce greater lightness in their lives. At the 'Nordstil Creative' area, the spotlight is on the trend towards do-it-yourself.

Visitors will find the growing 'Hobby & Handicrafts' segment in Hall A3. Another magnet in Hall A4 is the 'Village' where, in a joint presentation, twelve exhibitors not only show the latest trends and new products but also offer exciting and practical ideas for window dressing, product placement and assortment compilation. At the 'Heroes with Bottle' area, everything revolves around the subject of wines and spirits as supplementary product lines. Naturally, visitors not only have the opportunity to gather information but also to taste and order the products on show. For the second time, bloggers are taking part in Nordstil with their own stand in Hall A 1 (Stand C60). Under the heading 'Blog ups – Blog up your Business', they show how bloggers can contribute to an effective marketing mix and, therefore, to the success of retailers and manufacturers.
