| Greenshowroom & Ethical Fashion Show Berlin: A time of contrasts Decorative patterns meet sporty minimalism, voluminous silhouettes meet narrow cuts and smoky tones meet vibrant colours. Fashion is becoming more colourful and varied. And fashionable eclecticism is taking things beyond the tried-andtested into unknown territory: here it's all about consciously breaking up the styles. Glamour and casual are entering into an exciting interplay. With their A/W 17/18 collections, the labels exhibiting at the Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin are showcasing strong designs and casual contours, combining innovative materials, textures and structures. ALINASCHUERFELD: STATEMENT SHOES Alinaschuerfeld (pictured) is elevating elegance and extravagance to a whole new level. With a mix of different materials, such as embossed, raylook, metallic salmon or smooth leather, immersed in a colour scheme between Midnight Punk and Pure Ice, the result is a unique range of power shoes. Lacing with metal hooks and graphic elements like top-stitching add structure. And everything is produced in ecologically responsible processes: using traditional handcraftsmanship, chrome-free and vegetable-tanned leather is turned into luxurious leather goods by Spanish and Italian manufactories. RHUMAA: SPORTY DIVERSITY. With Rhumaa, Daniel Beernink and Ton van Vuren from Holland pursue their goal of furthering the understanding of cultural and social diversity through fashion, offering up-and-coming artists a textile platform: their next collection takes us to Sedgefield in South Africa. The community and vibe of this quiet little town is captured by the artist Holmes Jansen, who grew up there. Smoky, light colours and earthy tones are broken up by the clear colours of the graphics. Natural materials and modern cuts result in an exciting mix that brings together cultures in a sustainable way. JAN 'N JUNE: STRUC TURE MEETS GLAM. The label, which was established in Hamburg in 2014 by Juliana Holtzheimer and Anna Bronowski, is writing the next chapter of its success story and masterfully combining contrasts this coming winter: soft structures like fleece or velvet with moleskin and gabardine or matte with silky, shiny fabrics. The label is staying true to its clear linear style while using new colour tones to add an element of surprise: for the A/W 17/18 season, black, white and grey are being joined by nude, light blue-grey and a dusty pink. Wide and narrow rib, A-lines, slits and spaghetti straps and smart materials like recycled cotton, Tencel or recycled polyester give the collection an exciting aesthetic. HOODLAMB: PARKA-NATION. Founded in 1993 in the Netherlands, Hoodlamb specialises in warm parkas made of hemp fibre. Simple cuts, clear lines and subtly used details like patch pockets define the design of the Nordic parkas. Protection from the elements with fleecy plush lining and soft fur on the hoods offer the feel-good factor. And they're all made completely without animal materials because Hoodlamb only uses hemp and organic cotton. The insulation consists of Thermore EcoDown made of recycled PET bottles, which makes it 100% vegan! AM OV: MU TED TONES AND TEXTURE. The collection by the Danish newcomer label impresses with its calm, understated look: neutral colours like white and grey melange meet muted tones like dusty olive, golden amber and pale mauve. Sporty and casual styles are alternated with fashion pieces like bomber jackets, blouses and dresses. Different textures and structures from organic cotton, recycled polyester, mulesing-free wool and Tencel are combined to great effect. DEDICATED: #GOODVIBESONLY. BY SIGNE: HONEST. FEMININE. EASY. Despite having recently emerged onto the scene, the ladies' outerwear brand, established in 2015 in Denmark by Signe Roedbro, is already strong and confident. The style is elegant, but subversive, minimalistic and with a love of the unique. The contemporary looks are created in-house at their atelier in Frederikshavn and for the upcoming autumn/winter season they are taking their inspiration from the Parisian bohème, from sensitive, but strong women who are modern and visionary. The collection stands out with its interplay of oversized and slim silhouettes, with light, earthy colours and natural materials – all GOTS-certified.
