Scandinavian design at Nordstil 2016

Nordic is trending for everything from decorations to gifts and furnishings. At the coming Nordstil, the north of Europe will be very well represented with over 90 registrations from exhibitors having been received to date. Time and again, Scandinavian countries, especially Denmark and Sweden, breathe new life into the consumer-goods market with astonishing innovations and exciting, sales-boosting trends. From 23 to 25 July 2016, exhibitors such as Bloomingville, Formverket and Hübsch will present their products at the regional order platform in Hamburg and profit, inter alia, from easy entry to the market.
"Scandinavian design has been and continues to be very popular – especially in North Germany – and this trend continues to gain momentum", emphasises Group Show Director Philipp Ferger.

The special 'Swedish Design X 10' area in Halls A1 and B5 is also part of this trend at this year's Summer Nordstil. Organised by Swedish design blogger and journalist Stefan Nilsson, it holds many surprises in store for visitors. "I attended last year's Nordstil as a guest and was really enthusiastic about what I saw", says Nilsson explaining how the special area came about. 'Swedish Design X 10' is a platform for high-grade Swedish brands that target the North German market and includes exhibitors such as Elce Stockholm and Växbo Lin. "Sweden and Hamburg", adds the gallery owner and trend expert, "share the same DNA." Revolving around interior design, the area is the ideal place to discover extraordinary pieces of furniture and striking objects in a perfect Scandinavian setting.

Some of the Danish exhibitors will be making presentations within their product group while others, such as Kähler Design, will be located in the Style & Design Hall (A4). As one of the pioneers of Scandinavian design, the range of products being shown by Kähler includes portable loudspeaker systems made of porcelain, leather and wood. Additionally, several Danish exhibitors are to be found in the 'Furnishing & Decoration' (A1, B5), 'Jewellery & Fashion' (B2, B7), 'Kitchen & Gourmet' (B1.0, B1.1), 'Garden & Seasonal' (B3, B4), 'Relaxation & Well-Being' (B2) and 'Gifts & Stationery' (A3) product groups.

Other companies are banking on strategic combinations – at two pavilions in Hall B5 and one in Hall A1. At the pavilion of the Danish Handicrafts Chamber organised by Jens Kvorning (Hall B5), visitors will find a broad spectrum of products, including ecologically friendly Advent calendars in Scandinavian design by Finally Now. Other eye-catchers will be shown by companies such as Stuff and Amicus Accessories.

Nordstil is a blend of trend show, order platform and networking venue, and exhibitor Vita Copenhagen plans to take part this season with a 'home-field advantage': with a living room on wheels. At the end of the month, the glass body of the Vita Visualization Van will give visitors an insight into the manufacturer's product world – as a mobile exhibition stand at Nordstil.
