Pioneers and world stars of the graffiti and street art scene at Creativeworld

Working together with world stars of the street art scene, such as LOOMIT and the TAKNADO CREW, graffiti pioneer Akim Walta will be creating big and small works at Creativeworld in Frankfurt. Around 10 artists from all over the world – including Germany, Russia, India and Mexico – will present their amazing exhibits from 30 January to 2 February 2016 and will also produce small items for visitors. The leading international trade fair for hobbies, arts and crafts and artists' requisites will also feature live, "hands-on" regional artists right there, on site. Trendy street art can be viewed in the foyer of Hall 4.1 as well as in the Urban Street Art Area in Hall 4.2, Stand H50/51.

Akim Walta: Veteran and pioneer of the graffiti scene
Akim Walta is one of Germany's most important graffiti pioneers. He started off in the 1980s, conquering first Germany, then Europe and eventually the entire world of graffiti. His debut on the graffiti scene took place in the Rhine-Main region. Inspired by comics, Akim Walta soon tried his own hand at drawing. Later he founded the first coloured graffiti fan magazine, On the Run, which caused a furore in the worldwide graffiti scene: "At the time, " says Akim Walta, "no one thought that graffiti might develop into the world's biggest art movement among young people." He organised battles and jams in Munich, Mainz, Heidelberg and Hamburg, continually met with graffiti writers and artists from the entire world and motivated and taught young people. "Many of the people we invited at the time are now designers and art directors working for well-known agencies, sports equipment makers and the automotive industry." So what about the magazine? "On the Run is now a well-known brand for pens, paints and professional street art and artists' materials, " says Akim Walta. His collection will be on display and can also be ordered by retailers at Creativeworld (Hall 4.2, F50). His vigourous activities on an international scale provided the foundation for today's worldwide street art network which has occasionally also featured at Expo in Shanghai, at German embassies and at major exhibitions. Akim Walta currently lives and works in Berlin.

Growing range of street art products at Creativeworld
Growth in street art is paralleled by the product range of materials, paints and tools shown at Creativeworld. Exhibitors at this leading international trade fair for hobbies, arts and crafts and artists' requisites have long understood this trend and responded to it: Colart (UK) will showcase its latest Liquitex products. Montana Cans (Germany) will present trends and spray paints, and Publikat (Germany) will be there with its Stylefile Marker. Royal Talens (Netherlands) will demonstrate its new inspiring ideas, and AVT Paints (Australia) will present its aerosol and ink sprays. Several manufacturers will also hold workshops on their products. But we will also see an increasing number of new small companies. Newcomers at Creativeworld, for instance, will be Clemens Roosen from Germany and ITAL G.E.T.E and Grog from Italy with their latest trends in paints, spray paints, professional writing tools and entire tool sets for graffiti and street art. Quite often the owners of such companies have their own origins in the creative or street art scene.
