Messe Frankfurt: the world’s number one for textile fairs

With a unique portfolio of 49 international fairs for the textile sector, Messe Frankfurt is the world's market leader when it comes to trade fairs for the textile sector. In 2015, around 19, 000 exhibitors and approx. 465, 000 visitors attended the company's events around the globe. The portfolio covers the entire value chain of the textile industry and, as the main communication platform, Texpertise Network is a source of information about the world-renowned trade-fair brands and the first-class services provided by Messe Frankfurt.

The Messe Frankfurt portfolio of events covers the complete value chain of the textile sector with four business units: the Apparel Fabrics & Fashion business unit embraces all fairs for fabrics, yarns, contract manufacturing and sustainable fashion with brands such as Texworld, Apparel Sourcing, Intertextile, Yarn Expo, Ethical Fashion Show, Greenshowroom, Leatherworld and Emitex. Interior & Contract Textiles brings together the platforms for textile interior furnishings: Heimtextil, Intertextile Home Textiles, Interior Lifestyle and Home Textiles Sourcing. The Technical Textiles & Textile Processing includes the Techtextil, Texprocess, Simatex and Confemaq brands. Textile Care covers the Texcare brand with its events revolving around the subject of textile care.

Apparel Fabrics & Fashion: always at the head of the fashion runway
Last November saw the successful première of Texworld in Istanbul. In addition to Paris and New York, Istanbul is now the biennial setting for the fabric fair. Additionally, Messe Frankfurt holds the Apparel Sourcing fair concurrently with Texworld in Paris and New York. In September 2015 Messe Frankfurt has launched Avantex, a trade fair dedicated to high-tech fabrics for fashion and to research in that field alongside Texworld in Paris. Additionally in February 2016 Avanprint, a show for digital textile printing, starts – also alongside Texworld in Paris. The world's biggest trade fair for apparel textiles, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, is also held twice a year – from now on at the new exhibition centre in Shanghai. Also highly successful are the Intertextile Pavilion in Shenzhen and the Yarn Expo in Shanghai. Moreover, Messe Frankfurt also organises two fairs for sustainable apparel in Berlin – Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin. From this year, both events are being held together in the 'Postbahnhof' event centre in Berlin. May 2015 saw the première of Leatherworld Middle East, the first trade fair for the leather-processing industry in the Middle East. At the same time, Messe Frankfurt was expanding its portfolio of textile trade fairs with Emitex, the international trade fair for the apparel and textile industry in Argentina.

Interior & Contract Textiles: the world of interior furnishing at the same time and place
Heimtextil in Frankfurt am Main, the world's most important meeting place for home and contract textiles, is held right at the beginning of the year. At the fair, retailers, wholesalers, architects, interior furnishing experts and designers have the chance to gain inspiration from the Heimtextil Trends and take advantage of special lists of exhibitors for the contract and coupon businesses, and of manufacturers of ecological materials. Additionally, the fairs of the 'Interior & Contract Textiles' business unit also attract thousands of interior-decoration buyers to metropolises around the world every year. Apart from the successful Heimtextil Russia in Moscow, there is Heimtextil Japan, which is held under the umbrella of Interior Lifestyle Tokyo. Its autumn / winter counterpart is the International Furniture Fair Tokyo (IFFT) / Interior Lifestyle Living. In China, Messe Frankfurt holds the biannual Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles. The autumn edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is the leading fair for the Asian home-textile industry while the spring edition primarily serves the regional market. Rounding off the 'Interior & Contract Textiles' business unit are Home Textiles Sourcing Expo in New York and Heimtextil India, the latest member of this family of fairs.

Technical Textiles & Textile Processing: textile innovations and cutting-edge technology across the board
'Technical Textiles & Textile Processing' is the synonym for the successful Techtextil and Texprocess brands. As the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, Techtextil in Frankfurt am Main takes place every two years. Back in 1997, Messe Frankfurt defined twelve areas of applications ranging from architecture and apparel to medical technology and transport. At present, Messe Frankfurt holds another five biennial fairs under the Techtextil brand in East Europe, North America and Asia: Techtextil Russia in Moscow is the biggest Russian event for technical textiles and nonwovens. In Shanghai, the sector gets together at the successful Cinte Techtextil China. As a result of the growing Chinese market for nonwovens, Messe Frankfurt launched the China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CINE) in 2015 which is held alongside Cinte. For the growing Indian technical textiles and nonwovens industry, Techtextil India in Mumbai is the most important platform. Messe Frankfurt also holds two major events in the USA: Techtextil North America in Atlanta and, from 2015, in Houston, Texas for the first time. Since 2014, Messe Frankfurt organises a Techtextil Middle East Pavilion within the framework of the Intersec trade fair in Dubai.

Texprocess, the leading international trade fair for the processing of textile and flexible materials, made its debut in Frankfurt am Main in 2011. In 2012 it was joined by Texprocess Americas in Atlanta. Texprocess covers the entire value chain: from design, via cutting, sewing, knitting and embroidery, to finishing, dressing, IT and logistics. The trade fairs of both brands are accompanied by extensive programmes of events. In 2014, Messe Frankfurt Argentina took over Simatex, International Trade Fair for Textile Machinery, and Confemaq, International Trade Fair for Garment Machinery, and thus not only expanded its portfolio of fairs in the textile and apparel industry but also reinforced its position as the world's leading organisers of events for this growing market.

Textile Care: the innovative power of textile technologies
'Textile Care' focuses on the dynamic sectors for textile care. Every four years, Texcare International brings together trade visitors and exhibitors at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre at the world's leading event for the international textile care and laundry market. Also at four-yearly intervals, trade visitors meet at the Texcare Forum in Frankfurt to discuss the latest trends and developments in the sector. The brand is also represented by another two successful fairs: Texcare Asia in China and Texcare Forum Russia in Moscow.
